What the Town Actually Is

This is genuinely the most established, most American-influenced expat community in Costa Rica — English is spoken everywhere from restaurants to medical offices, and it’s entirely possible to live here comfortably with minimal Spanish. This is one of Escazú’s clearest strengths. CIMA Hospital, one of Central America’s leading private facilities with extensive English-speaking staff, sits within the area, making Escazú one of the strongest healthcare-access locations anywhere in the country — a significant factor for retirees or anyone managing ongoing health needs.
